Clubhouse Model Programs
The Clubhouse Model originated in 1948 with six courageous men in New York City who rejected institutionalization and repeated hospitalizations and embraced the revolutionary idea that they could make productive new lives for themselves by working side-by-side on recovery. With the founding of Fountain House, they changed their lives and those of thousands of others to follow.
At Granite Pathways we offer the Clubhouse Model through Portsmouth’s Seacoast Pathways and Manchester Pathways Clubhouse. Our clubhouses are a warm and welcoming place to go during the day where people connect with others in a safe, supportive environment while participating in the structure of the Clubhouse, a proven model for psychosocial rehabilitation. We serve people aged 18 and over in the New Hampshire’s Seacoast area and southern Maine communities including Kittery and Eliot, and in the Manchester area.
Members can reach their goals of work, education, stable housing, and friendships at a pace that works for them, all while being connected to others and developing their unique strengths and abilities.
